We hear about rewards in heaven. Recently, I have been wondering about just what is the nature of the rewards we that are to receive. Christians will be with the Lord. Just what will be or could be any additional rewards? Rewards imply that some will get something and some will not, or some will get more than others. If there are differences in status, would that be important to us in heaven anyway? Will it matter to me if your mansion is bigger than mine, for example? I have not heard this being discussed. Does anyone have any thoughts on or references that discuss just what these rewards actually consist of?

Matthew 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Matthew 6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms F12 before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 1 Corinthians 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing You can do a word search but the Bible doesn't really tell us what our reward is. In fact it says: quote:
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But we know there will be no saddness, no sorrow, no sin, and envy would ba a sin so no I don't think we'll care what each other may or may not have.

Why promise different rewards if we will not care anyway? It seems like a puzzle to me. Of course, it is a good puzzle. Am I missing something?

As I understand it, the rewards will be something akin to what we are seeing in the Olympics.

Our tangible reward(s) are our obedience(s) in His Name in this physical realm that we will present to His Glory.(Some say He will return our crowns to be displayed on our heads, the 'scars' of obedience and sacrifice, to the hosts of Heaven throughout Eternity.)

And probably far better than anything we can think of. I didn't say we wouldn't care, I said we woun't care about someone elses reward. Like if they have a bigger crown or whatever we won't feel bad or be jealous. But reminber that then we will see clearly, while now we see darkly. Our "I" won't be a problem then.

Will it matter to me if your mansion is bigger than mine, for example? The rewards will be for works done in our lives. It matters little what the rewards are, or how many, because we will all lay them back at the feet of Jesus, where they rightfully belong. Peace

Rewards are referring to the Grace of GOD, well beyond anything materialistic. It will be a reward if we are selected into heaven and that is the greatest award of all. Our lifestyle has to complement a heavenly award and our heart condition goes hand in hand. You can't portray bitterness and exspect to receive sweetness in return. GOD Blessings to all

GOD Blessings to all drfuss: I agree that being in heaven with our Lord will be the greatest thing that could happen. Of course, this is what prompted my question in the OP. What reward could be considered greater than our spending eternity with our Lord? Anything else would be insignificant.

I'd rather be a slave in(of)Heaven then a prince in Hell.
