Hey CCM Friends,

BarlowGirl is our "15 Questions" artist for the month of December. The girls recently released a new holiday album titled Home for Christmas (Fervent) and are currently working on a new studio project. Leave a question for them here...

Hey BarlowGirl,

I think your music is awesome. Keep up the ministry!

My question is, who does most of the song writing and arrangement for the band? Does one of you kinda have the final say in how the song actually ends up like, or do you all just agree together?

Hey ! Hey ! Hey ! Greetings . Love your music . Love that song . Thanks for all your God given messages .
Very inspiring and helpful . What Bible verses keep you creative ? What verses have helped you ? When you
got stuck on something to write ? What scripts have got you through the rough times ? God bless you all .

What do you say to people who associate your songs and music with hurtful times/people in their lives?

Girls, you're one of the most gifted bands in CCM today.

But it just kills me...why don't you care if you win a Dove Award or not?? Your music speaks for itself.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

ladies: if I said you all "saved my life" I really meant you were a "channel" for God's love. All credit has to go to Him...he just chose you and your music to inspire me not to take my life at the beginning of 2008...turning off siggy now! BLESS YA!

Imagine...a guy named Josh Brown (not y'all's pal from Day of Fire!!) kicked a field goal for St. Louis against Miami.

Yeah, I got a question for y'all.
Are y'all planning to sing with any other artists anytime soon? Y'all would sound pretty good with Tyler Burkum from Audio Adrenaline.

Girls, it's me again...please don't think I am obsessed with you or anything...it's just that you have turned my life around with your music. Really.

Anyway, this question is for my fellow bassist, Alyssa: We know that both Becca and Otto help teach you the ropes as a bassist. But, is there anyone else you admire amongst bass players, both Christian and secular?

Bless you all...especially "original bassist" Becca, on your 29th Birthday!!

(And Lyssa, do you ever get arm cramps playing?? If you do, what do you suggest to do for them?)

Barlowgirl,

First I want to tell you how much I appreciate the stand you have taken for modesty.

The topic has come up quite a bit on these forums recently, and I would appreciate hearing more about how you defined the standards you uphold, especially has it relates to your interpretation of the scriptures related to this topic.

Thanks.

Hey Barlowgirl,

My question is for Becca, I was wondering if you had a verse that you have looked to for strength to get up on stage every night? I've thought about you every time the Lord pushes me to a place that's hard or uncomfortable. I just don't know how you do it.

You chicks are great role models to this generation, way to set the right tone.

You girls are my heroes!!

Hey, gals, I cam up w/another one during my walk today...

I love the fact you stand for purity and modesty....myself, I have been somehow remained single for over 30 years, though I would LOVE to date. So, I have kind of adopted your stand for purity...I just call it "until God decides what's best for me"...so, I'm not just waiting for the right wife, just for the time for God to tell me what's best. What do you all think about that?

But the question I really had may be slightly controversial: given the fact that you don't want to see women dress so inmodestly these days, have you three ever gotten any heat from critics who may say your on-stage attire goes against the very beliefs you stand for?? That is, has anyone accused you of being hypocritical for saying women should dress decently but you dress slightly provocatively??

I hope that line of questioning didn't bother you, and if they criticize you for saying one thing and doing another, don't listen to them!! Listen to God, Ladies, and just keep being BarlowGirl.

God bless you always, and thanks for helping me get through my toughest times!!

Ramon Matos Jr.

(Out of respect to all in the forum and the Girls, I am disabling my siggy)

I suppose I won't go on and on about how awesome you girls are so I'll start with the questions.

You're my favorite band of all time and I've read about your testimonies. So, I hope you don't mind some dorky questions that i wondered about.

Becca: Since you're into cars, have you ever done anything with woodworking? Who are some of your guitar inpirations?

Alyssa: Do you just sing THAT good naturally or did the three of you have to take lessons?

Lauren: What are some of your favorite verses or books of the Bible that comfort you when you want to grow/feel closer to God?

My cousin Shabree had some questions she's dying to ask you.

Have you ever been embarrassed of your purity rings?
Has there ever been a time that you wish God would want you to date?

Hey BarlowGirls! You guys are awesome, you have made such an impact on my life!

My question was mostly for Becca but it could be for all of you. I have struggled with an eating disorder, depression, and self image problems, and when I was at your concert a couple months ago and Becca shared her testimony, I said I was not going to let this rule my life and I let those burdens go, and I did for a while. But it has been hard to get out of it and let it totally go I keep wanting to to go back, but I know I don't want to go back. But some days I will. It just keeps trying to creep back up on me. So My question for you guys is how can I let it go and to Becca how did you get out of it?

Thanks so much!

PS. Do you mind telling me where you guys shop for clothes? If you want to. LOL I love how you guys dress!

Hey, Girls, I think you're gonna like this one...

Being from Chicago, a city long known as a mecca for gospel music as the home of the Impressions, Mahalia Jackson, the Staple Singers, Smokie Norful and now, rockers like yourselves, Brooke Barrettsmith and your good friends from Superchick, how proud/pleased does it make you that your hometown has had such a longtime tradition in the music of praise and worship??

(And, did you listen to that old gospel growing up??)

Blessings and merry Christmas (stay warm...IT'S CHICAGO!)

First of all, I really enjoy your music and your commitment to purity. My question is this: What advice would you give a young woman wishing to be content with not dating and waiting for the man God has planned for her to marry?

So I've heard that y'all are currently working on a new studio project. Is there some sort of style and theme for the new project?

For your new album, you guys really changed your style, leaving your rock roots behind. Some people expressed disappointment for this abrupt change, as commented in a new music blog:

http://myjesusrocks.com/blog/?p=187

What influenced you to make this kind of change, and is it a permanent change in your artistic direction? God bless, and thanks for keeping it real in the Lord!
