So it looks like the good ol' boys network over at the GOP has been shaken up, at least for a while. Whether McCain wins or loses, until last Friday you know that Giuliani, Romney, and maybe some others thought they had a future in the Republican party. So now what do they do? You can just tell that it burns Giuliani and Romney to play third and fourth fiddle to Palin. What do you think? Where are the guys going now that Johnny has a new dancing partner?

Secretary of Defense and Commerce perhaps?

I see tremendous Cabinet potential for Romney, Lieberman, maybe even Guiliani and Ridge. I think those guys would or at least should all be thrilled to be serving in the areas of their expertise, with some real influence and a seat at the table at a McCain/Palin Administration - sure beats suffering through an Obama Administration!

That's an interesting thought. And on the Cabinet, they'd have more actual input into policy that as VP, although of course they'd be further down the succession. Actually, I'd peg Rudy for Homeland Security rather than Defense. I wonder if either would take it though? They might just go back to making money.

Well, that would tell us something about them if they did. But you are right about Rudy at Home. Sec.
