I thought it would be appropriate to create this thread in tribute to all the pastors around the world. I was hoping we can give some reasons why we appreciate the pastors of our church and in this forum. I will go first. I always enjoy listening to my pastor give his sermons on Sundays, I get spiritually fed by his great knowledge of the bible. He has done many wonderful things for the Lord such as being involved with evangelism and community outreach programs. He is also my friend and a brother in Christ. I also believe we have many terrific pastors right here in Crosswalk forums who take their time to educate us in the word of God. Please feel free to discuss and give recognition to your church pastors.

There are several pastors on this forum who are currently posting and have posted in the past. When I see these people have posted on a thread I will often to read their post because more times than not it's filled with Godly Wisdom. It encourages me to see that in this country we have such fine men of God taking their calling serious and preaching/teaching God's Word. I want to thank them and let them know how much I "respect" them and their opinions on various topics. (most of you know who you are and you know me well enough that "respect" is not something I give out easily) I also appreciate our current pastor. He is an extremely fine man and so above the education and dedication level of a man we could afford to hire. He has give up so much inorder to be with us these past two years. He is a true living example before the congregation of a strong, dedicated man of conviction and passion for the Lord. He has helped our entire church and community see Christ more clearly. (great thread!!!! thanks for starting it!!!!)

I would like to give shout outs to pastors RCJames, Earthless, ChristopherJ, BibleL7, PastorDale, and RevBob4God! Praise God for these men.

Let me add BroShane and Mushhead to the list. I am sure there are others who are pastors and I don't realize it that I respect.

My pastor is a true man of God. His sermons are well thought out and prepared. He cares about the people in the congregation and their problems. My family and I have been going through some very rough times and he (and the whole session) has cared for us and hurt for us He is not beyond admitting when he is struggling and needs help. A year ago he started feeling burnt out and not liking anything to do with pastoriing. He went to our session and asked for a sabbatical. They willingly agreed. He spent that time in prayer and study on what it means to be a pastor. He came back and admitted the struggles he had been having and what steps he was going to take to help prevent that burn-out again. However, in my point above he was not above reaching out on his sabbatical. A long time church member died a couple weeks before the end. He came back to do the funeral. My brother also died a few days after that and when he found out he took the time to call me and express his condolences. He urges us to go beyond just interacting with eachother on Sunday mornings and to form relationships and friendships with each other outside of Sunday AM. He also urges us and helps support opportunities to reach out to the community around us.
