Denny - our Heavenly Father wants to have a relationship with us as individuals more than He wants us to do things to please Him first and foremost. When we have a right relationship with God, this will result in the latter fruits of good works and obedience. When we have a right grasp of God's love for us - we will obey Him not out of duty but out of a shared love and appreciation and obedience will not be so difficult.

Get to know, enjoy and love God and see what happens......

Heavenly Father
I thank and praise You that You love us with an everlasting and perfect love.
I thank and praise You that when we wander from Your ways and desire to return
that You don't stand by to scorn us but hold out wide and open arms to accept and love us
back into Your presence for You truly love us and want what is best for us.
Thank You for keeping Denny safe when he/she has strayed from Your paths.
Help Denny to get to know You better in the days ahead and may he/she grow in grace
and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and may he/she grow strong in Your love.
I pray this for Your glory Heavenly Father and in Jesus' name.

Father,

Thank you for Denny's desire to serve you. We ask that you use him as an extension of you. Make all of his desires wholesome and work it out so that he will think as you think...that he will become so filled with your way of thinking as you reveal in the Bible that he will go forward without the past weighing him down. Help him to become filled with your Word, the Bible. Cause all bad thoughts to be fleeting. It is in the name of Jesus Christ that we ask you to rescue him. Amen.
