This is the beginning line of Psalm 130. Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord, Lord, hear my voice! Let Thine ears be attentive To the voice of my supplications. If Thou, Lord, shouldst mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with Thee, That Thou mayest be feared. Crying out to the Lord, being heard by Him, knowing we can be completely honest with Him, confessing our sin, and finding His forgiveness brings us to the proper fear of Him. Share how this truth has been lived out in your life. How have you become closer to the Lord, more in love with Him, and shared in sweeter communion through this kind of honest confession?

If only you knew how timely your post is. I've just received some news regarding something totally out of my control. All I can do is say: Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord, Lord, hear my voice! Thy will be done. Perhaps you'll pray for me. Thanx.

This particular part of Psalm 130 reminds me of my salvation. I called upon the Lord in desperation because I was so aware of my sinfulness and so needed His help. I needed to know God was real and that He cared for me and in His great love and mercy towards me, He answered my heart's cry. I have since come to a deeper understanding of how merciful, loving and compassionate our God is. I love His beautiful character and am amazed that He extended His grace to a sinner like me and that He loves me even on days when I can't love myself because I don't like what I see; however, in saying this, I am also grateful that He is moulding me into who He wants me to be and therefore does not leave me without hope. Such love towards me births love in return; He is my hope, my future and my life and my love towards God grows the more I spend time in fellowship with Him through His Word and prayer. Because He is my loving papa - I can tell Him absolutely anything and I know He is truly interested and cares, therefore my relationship with Him is priceless and precious and He is truly greatly to be praised.

That is one of my frequent prayers---thank You, Lord, for being a God Who hears. Hears and cares. Yes, there are so many things out of our control. And those are the times when we trust and put our confidence in Him. Bless you. I'm praying for you now. LL

ORIGINAL: Grace-N-Mercy The next verse reads: "I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope." This is my response to the verses above. There have been many times I have called out to him from the depths of depression, and most of the time, I feel heard by him. Yes, this causes me to feel closer to Him, like I matter, that my prayers are important. I am praying very fervently right now on a certain issue, and I honestly feel He is weeping along side of me, even though the prayer has gone unfulfilled. But I never feel bad about bringing it to His attention just one more time because He is never critical. Yes, my soul does wait. And in His word I hope. Waiting means to expect. It isn't just killing time, drumming our fingers, or wondering what's up. It is EXPECTING His answer at any moment, knowing that His answer is on its way. And a big part of the waiting is the fellowship we share along the way. Thanks for sharing your story with us.
