Drop by sometime when you think they DON'T have a service, but might have someone in the office - like in the middle of the afternoon. This assumes you have time off work to do that. Then ask or pick up a bulletin. Or you could get their phone number from the book (or the internet) and phone their office. Someone should be there during office hours.

Another idea is to show up way early on a Sunday am and just wait until people start showing up, unless they are Adventist, Messianic, or "Seventh Day" anything; in which case show up early Saturday.

Also, if you google them they may very well have a web page that gives that information.

When we moved, we went to the phone book to find a church, called them, and found out what kind of church they were and what time the services were.

Hee hee. I did that once*. People were very kind and told me when the service started so I could be on time the following week.

Yeah, find their phone number and call during the week. A lot of church offices are closed on Monday but are there Tuesday through Friday. They'll probably be thrilled you're coming.

*I had an excuse - I was on my honeymoon and the time changed the day after the wedding. Hey, I was busy with wedding plans and didn't notice, OK?

That's nota 'odd question. Yellow Pages/ friend/acquintances? or walk/drive through your neighborhood and visit the pastor...It's not rocket science.

Not long ago, I went to map-quest [MQ] to find a church for some loved-ones. They had moved out of state and city. It was unfamiliar to them.
MQ brought up a list of those in their area. It even tells how many minutes away, and directions.

Many had websites. So you can check them out, before you enter in. I'm not dismissing talking with the pastor, but this is an option worthy of looking into.
On the websites, I found out about their mission statement, ministries, goals for the church, worship services, times, testimonies from the pastor and others. I got to enjoy an audio sermon, and worship music. And the church address, map, email contact and phone#'s were listed.

Some newspapers have listings on Saturdays of most/all the area churches. Try the newspaper or its website.
