I thought this was interesting when I read it the other day and figured it might have something to do with prophecies in revelation talking about coming from the north. (I am not sure of the exact references so forgive me there)

Bejing China is interpreted to say literaly northern City or city of the north (I found this information on facebook in their "escape application")
