"Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled" And I think that this is preventing me from updating all kinds of stuff on my computer at work.
As I have mentioned before, I am very computer-illiterate. How can I get this changed?

Find 'Tools'(usually near the upper right corner), left mouse click and the fourth entry down left click on 'Manage Add-ons'. You can toggle between on/off and/or 'Add More Add-ons'.

It is turned off -- gray instead of black -- and clicking it doesn't do anything.
