quote:
ORIGINAL: ta_mosquito It's a movie genre you don't hear much about in Hollywood: the right-wing comedy. For that matter, it's not much of a genre at all. But it's exactly what conservative producer-director-screenwriter David Zucker created with "An American Carol." The gag-filled liberal lampoon stars Kevin Farley, brother of the late Chris Farley, as a scruffy Michael Moore clone named Michael Malone, an infamous documentary filmmaker leading a slapstick campaign to abolish the Fourth of July. LINK From the director of Airplane! and the Naked Gun films. Sounds interesting, and, dare I say it, about time! I've seen the previews for it. All the other parodies lately, have just plain looked stupid. However, for one coming from the creator of Airplane and Naked Gun, this might have to be worth seeing.

It's been a while since I've wanted to see a movie. This is one I want to see.

I heard Zucker interviewed on Dennis Prager this morning. They played audio clips. Sounds funny, and yes, WAY over-due.

It is interesting to me to see how movies are being used this year when it comes to politics. It isn't anything new - but the timing is really blatantly designed to effect the election. From W. - which will be released in a few days (a satire of George Bush's life) to the Zucker movie. I'll look forward to reading the reviews of each ...

I heard about this. A lot of hollywood conservatives have come out of the closet to take part in this movie.

I saw it last night with my Marine hubby and 22 year old Marine son. It was funny - there were times that I was rolling out of my seat laughing.

Saw it yesterday. It was a little bit funny, but took its own premise way too seriously. It could have been a lot funnier.
