Here's a place you can post an article or video clip for your favorite false brethren: {Actually, it doesn't have to be a favorite; just a place to put them all together for all to see} Here's a group.

It is good to know no one has a "favorite" false teacher. Hooray for the Body of Christ.

Well, I don't know if I have a "favorite," but I think one of the most entertaining to watch of ol' Bob Tilton. But I always feel bad watching folks like him, because I know that there are people out there getting duped out of their money, and duped into a false perception of who God is and how He works.

About 25+ years ago, I used to get a kick out of watching Robert Tilton with the tv muted. It got especially funny when he would lay prostrate over the checks people sent in with his Rolex winking, his Italian suit wrinkling up, and his face contorted in ways I didn't know a face could move. I wouldn't watch now, much less watch and laugh, because it's not the least bit funny to me anymore.

Everything the pope says. Take your anti-Catholic bigotry else where. While the RCC may have problems, they are 1000 times more in line with scripture then some of these WOF charlatans. To compare anything the current, or any former pope says to people like Hinn, Crouch, Bentley, ect says is offensive, and I am not even Catholic. As for the topic at hand, I particularly like people like Edgar Whisenant and his "88 Reasons Why the Rapture is in 1988" followed by 3 more books in the years ('89, '93, '94). Sadly people bought the first book hook line and sinker. TBN even stopped normal coverage to have special coverage on Rapture preparation (another reason not to listen to or follow TBN).

I've had some that I really liked, but it always bothered me the ones they associated with on the "seminar circuits." Now, as our eyes are opened, some "say" the right things to deceive us (some are honestly deceived themselves), we can recognize that if they "fly together" they "deceive together." I've been trying to check TBN out the last few nights. The same ol', same ol', lying out their teeth while the amens fly. Kinda makes a fellow "vexed" like poor Lot. lol.

. . . But it is difficult for me to understand why people acting completely stupid is ever deemed by anyone as something from G-d. That howling-into-a-mic-junk, running about on all-fours junk, acting like a complete idiot junk -- how do these people live with themselves? Reminds me of a certain Scripture in Isaiah.

But Jesus didn't say it is possible to deceive the very elect, He said IF it were possible, etc. That indicates it's not possible and that folks flocking to hear the voice of a different shepherd than Him just may be in need of meeting the True Shepherd.

I agree, Jimbo. The "if" there is very important. I think Jesus here in highlighting the power of the false teachers, but more importantly, highlighting the greater power of Him and the truth.

Do not be afraid of Christ! He takes nothing away, and he gives you everything. When we give ourselves to him, we receive a hundredfold in return. Yes, open, open wide the doors to Christ—and you will find true life. -Pope Benedict XVI Jesus takes nothing away? A reprobate can remain just as he is and still acquire the true, abundant Christian life? I think that's where the Reformation came in.... Actually, that's what Protestantism seems to teach nowadays with the OSAS idea. The quote should be more accurately looked at in context. Here's a bit more from the paragraphs right prior: quote:
At this point, my mind goes back to Oct. 22, 1978, when Pope John Paul II began his ministry here in Saint Peter's Square. His words on that occasion constantly echo in my ears: "Do not be afraid! Open wide the doors for Christ!" The Pope was addressing the mighty, the powerful of this world, who feared that Christ might take away something of their power if they were to let him in, if they were to allow the faith to be free. Yes, he would certainly have taken something away from them: the dominion of corruption, the manipulation of law and the freedom to do as they pleased. But he would not have taken away anything that pertains to human freedom or dignity, or to the building of a just society. The Pope was also speaking to everyone, especially the young. Are we not perhaps all afraid in some way? If we let Christ enter fully into our lives, if we open ourselves totally to him, are we not afraid that He might take something away from us? Are we not perhaps afraid to give up something significant, something unique, something that makes life so beautiful? Do we not then risk ending up diminished and deprived of our freedom? And once again the Pope said: No! If we let Christ into our lives, we lose nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing of what makes life free, beautiful and great. No! Only in this friendship are the doors of life opened wide. Only in this friendship is the great potential of human existence truly revealed. Only in this friendship do we experience beauty and liberation. And so, today, with great strength and great conviction, on the basis of long personal experience of life, I say to you, dear young people: Do not be afraid of Christ! He takes nothing away, and he gives you everything. When we give ourselves to him, we receive a hundredfold in return. Yes, open, open wide the doors to Christ – and you will find true life. Amen.
