What impact are you wanting to leave on the world? What do you as a follower of Jesus want to leave as a legacy?

None whatsoever. I don't even mind if I am forgotten.

As long as I tried my best to live life as He would want me to ...

Well, I guess I wasn't too clear...I really was thinking of the legacy we as Christians would want to leave for Jesus...one that points to Him...

"If you meet me and you forget about me you have lost nothing of value, if you meet Jesus Christ and forget about Him you have lost EVERYTHING of value."

OK - sorry I misunderstood you.

Now then: what legacy WE can leave for Jesus.

First of all, He doesn't need anything from us: no legacy, prayers, lit candles etc ... etc ... apart from two things:

Love God with all your soul, heart and mind; and love your neighbour as yourself.

There's another thing that perhaps we can offer Him: we can live our lives as He would want us to.

By the way: I like your quotation in your post No. 3. I have the same one on my website.

God bless.

I would consider myself to be incredibly wealthy if my faith, now in my kid, would pass on to a thousand generations. God promises to love and bless such, so it will if that's what He meant.

Looking at the kings after Judah and Israel split, the kings of the northern kingdom Israel were evil, right down the line until the Assyrians dragged them off by hooks in their noses.

However, the kings of the southern kingdom of Judah seems to go: good, bad, bad, repeat. Until the Babylonian victory (Babylon is in Iraq, by the way).

So I don't totally understand God's math, but when He explains things to me I'm sure I'll clap my hands in joy and call Him a genius.

Looking at life from the view point of eternity, I am an ancestor. May God bless my family, and the world through my family. And yours!

I would like for someone to say, "That guy loved Jesus." That's it.

I do a great deal of prison ministy here in Raleigh. The charter of the men's prison when it was built in 1884 is to transform offenders into the image of Christ. Our target audience in the local womens prison is women just entering the system.

I challenge both of my audiences to imagine what would take place if the offenders at both prisons met Christ in such a manner. What would happen in that prison itself, the prison they will be transfered to, and the communities/families to which they will return. The result will be my legacy.

I want people to remember me as someone who was always willing to do whatever it is,to be used by God,and as a person who always shone their light for God.

Could you email me about this ministry? I'd like to read more about it.

All for Jesus! :)

I guess I think of the song "legacy"

"I want to leave a legacy, how will they remember me? Did I choose to love? Did I point to You enought to leave a mark on things, I want to leave an offering..."

"If you meet me and you forget about me you have lost nothing of value, if you meet Jesus Christ and forget about Him you have lost EVERYTHING of value."

This is what I hope to be remembered for, my legacy so to speak. I want, hope and pray to live a life that does point people to Him.

It would be great to have a legacy like Billy Graham, or some of the other great evangelists. But when I get to heaven, if just one person comes to me and says, that through a word I had said, or the way I lived my life, was what pointed them to Jesus, I know my life will have been worth it. Of course I am hoping that more will come to know the joy and peace I have in Christ and that through the strength and grace He permits me, others can see Him through me, my brother, sister, and father, for starters. But it is unimportant for me to be remembered for anything else, other than that I tried to live my life for Christ in all ways I knew how.(which of course, He will teach me)

And I must say that I don't mean to make it seem as though I will save anyone, or that by me others will be saved. It is only through and by Him that anyone can be saved. I just hope to let Him live through me and shine His light in to the darkness of others.
