There have been many "Changes" or revisions to the 1611 version you can google "KJV Bible revisions" and find them. The apocrypha was in the original, but was later removed and that would account for the largest change; most of the others were gender and plural corrections (changes). Thanks RC

ORIGINAL: christym78 I was always under the impression that the 1611 had never been changed but i wa told yesterday that in 1885 there was a revision done is true, does anyone know anything about it? Be careful about the scholarship of anyone who says there are changes -people who hate God and can't reach Him with their fists attack His Word and make up lies about it. I'd refer only to recognized scholars from the Christian quarter. I like the NASB because it was originally translated directly from the best Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic texts in 1901 (ASV), and then updated for more accuracy in 1960 (like, changing "thee" to "you") to the NASB, and then tweaked in 1995 for smoother understanding. It was done by the Lockman Foundation, which holds a high reputation in Christian scholarly circles. There's some interesting information on translation of versions here: http://www.biblegateway.com/versions/?action=getVersionInfo&vid=49 (NASB) http://www.biblegateway.com/versions/index.php?action=getVersionInfo&vid=9&lang=2 (KJV) The above doesn't say as much as I hoped it would; I suggest "Evidence That Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell (1975) as an excellent reference on this subject. Every century has a defining book on apologetics (the "how do you know" part of what's in the Bible is true) and Josh wrote it for the 20th century. It's in outline form, which makes it really easy to read and use. Also, see the "easy" version of this, called, "More than a Carpenter." But I don't know if he talks about translations in this or not. Enjoy!
