Well, this made the news in Denmark.
Any word from US media?

WormHeart, I certainly hope you don't think this garbage exemplifies the United States! This is, at best, a fringe group...a fanatical way of thinking. There are nuts all over and these are an example of the ones we have to deal with here.
Unfortunately, it's usually the "exceptions" that start the wars!

Oh, no, I know they are a small group of crazy people.
What got my attention was, that it was the first real threat of violence if Obama wins.
On one hand, I find it suspicious that I cant find the story on CNN and BBC.
On the other, it IS the KKK - I can't really see them *not* thinking like this.
But do you think they will make trouble if he wins?

I don't know if they'll make trouble or not. What it looks like is being set up is that there will be violence, no matter who wins. And there have been so many rumors flying around, we won't really know who started it!

We haven't heard anything from the KKK really, but you have to understand... nobody listens to the KKK. Nobody puts them on TV, nobody bothers interviewing them, they're just considered kooks, in like 90% of the country. They were interviewing EIGHT YEAR OLDS about who they wanted for President on the news this morning, but they would never think to interview KKK members. Nobody takes the KKK seriously except maybe in a few counties scattered in the southeast of the country. The media won't get anywhere near them, because people would be outraged at the media giving them the time of day, much less asking them what they think about the election.
They might march or something if Obama wins, but nobody will care. If they try to be violent, then they will get arrested, and still nobody will care other than to give a brief round of applause to the police officers regardless of the level of "reasonable force" used.

Very true, Zhi. Also, the KKK, is more known for small-scale violence. As far as I know (someone correct me if I'm wrong), they've never done anything on a large scale like rioting and/or looting.

You are right Zhi, the media won't interview them. I mean, how would the news look if they interviewed the head member of the Klan and he's talking about lynching people? So, I'm glad that they don't get as much attention as they use to do. However, maybe about 3 months ago, my friend lives in Ohio and she said someone put a pamphlet in her mailbox about the KKK. She doesn't know where it came from but the KKK are still pushing their literature to people.
Also, just because the KKK haven't rioted at large numbers doesn't mean that they are only known for small-scale violence. They have terrorized this country since 1865. Let's not dismiss the threats of the KKK. They do exist and people still listen to them. They exist all over this country and they continue to grow.

Exist, yes, grow, not so much. In the 1960s there were about 40,000 members. Now there's about 2,500, with many claiming that there's only that many due to the number of undercover law enforcement officers that have "joined" to keep an eye on them. Most of them are old and dying off... even the neonazis, other white supremacists, and skinheads don't take the KKK seriously anymore. heh.

Oh, I beg to differ, I think that they still are growing, but that's just my opinion. My own personal experience cause me to think this. I don't think that we can say for sure if they are growing or dying off. I mean, not too many people in this day and age are going to go out and say they belong to the Klan. That is why its a secert society.

The KKK and white supremacist groups do exist in the United States. But if they try to take away Barack Obama's life should he win tomorrow, they will be swiftly and harshly dealt with by the security apparatus of the United States government. An attempt on a president's life is a felony.

Sounds like Thomas Robb needs to take a history class or two if he thinks African Americans invaded the US 
I don't think there will be anything widespread. I think racial tensions are going to be part of this no matter who wins. I am somewhat concerned about some skinheads planning assassinations. A Biden presidency is even scarier to me than an Obama presidency.

It's interesting to note that when Denver hosted the Democratic National Convention, there were these KKK methheads who wanted to do something "for the cause," so to speak--BUT, when I read somewhere in conservative news outlets, like say, Newsmax, there's been chatter concerning white supremacist affairs that alleges the higher echelons of the Klan, seeing that it's better to have Obama as president than without--BECAUSE, if there's no Obama in the Oval Office, the Klan (and pretty much most, if not all other white supremacist groups) would be out of a job!
So in short, the guys in white bed sheets needed something (or someone) to keep their movement alive and growing!
*Kinda makes us wonder if the white supremacist "community" are more of a business venture than say, a political cause--like say, Louis Farrakhan!

Yes, I remember when they tried to kill President Reagan. I was glad The Gipper survived.
I wouldn't be surprised, frankly, but if Obama were to win, I would pray and hope that no one tries to kill him. It would be wrong and immoral to murder Obama just because he becomes the president just as it would be unjustifiable to murder McCain if the GOP ticket were to win tomorrow.

There have also been reports that if Obama loses, there will be riots by blacks. It's not all just white folks talking about commiting violence.

I've seen this kind of talk on some racist forum groups. These people suggest that Obama will seek to avenge all the injustice blacks have experienced through the years because of prejudiced white people. They make the mistake of thinking Obama would act like them. Let's pray that the result of this election and all that follows will help extinguish this kind of hatred and fear mongering.

The modern KKK is down to about 30 people spread across 10 trailer parks. They couldn't scrape up enough gas money to get to a central meeting place let alone foment anything resembling a race war.

someone brought up the news story about the Black Panthers that tried to block PA voters ... i thought they were a gone group,, but apparently they got resurrected as part of the nation of islam folks.
