Nehemiah 8:10
Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!
There is a "Love is" thread. I thought it would be encouraging to start a thread about joy.
The joy of the Lord is:
Knowing that we can trust the Lord, no matter what happens.

I believe there is a scripture that says He gives us the oil of joy for mourning...

Joy is that happy feeling that fills your heart as you plaise Him.
Joy is freedom from fear or worry or dread as we trust in Him.
Joy is the peace and happyness that fills your heart, when you look around and can't see anything to be happy about. But yet, you are.

I can relate to David's Joy: Psalm 30:11-12

Yeah, that was one of the strangest experiences I ever had. My heart ached for months and months as God pulled all the buried garbage out of my heart, and was continually filling it with joy even as I cried over all that He was bringing to my remembrance. As He filled my heart with His word, His love, joy, and peace, which worked to build my faith, at the same time He gave me the peace and courage to face all the painful circumstances that I had buried throughout my life. It was how he lifted me out of a very long depression.
The joy of the Lord can and does heal the broken heart.
