If Jesus came to your house for dinner what would you serve Him?

I think I'd ask Him what He wanted to eat.

I think Jesus would be cool with whatever we were having for dinner. It's all good anyway. And if we were having spicy Mexican food, Jesus would be cool with that too.

I'm not sure why you were surprised at the answer Jod78 gave? Jesus was there at creation when hot peppers were invented.

Oh not surprised. Just curious as to his reasoning is all.

Well if it was a surprise visit I sure hope he would be okay with what I was already planning on serving.

If it was a planned visit I would ask him if there was anything he would like and then have my daughter make cheesecake.

Maybe I'd order pizza so I could spend more time sitting at his feet. Oh and have hubby stop on his way home from work with cheesecake!

Blessings,

Garsy

That would depend if it was an announced or unannounced visit. If he just showed up at my door, he would get what he gets. If I had time to plan, I would ask him what he would like and try to work with that.

We know for a fact that Jesus was OK with fish and bread. We could work up a menu around that.

Yea we could! I was thinking I might make Him some delicious stuffed shells with a toss salad and maybe some cake and ice cream afterwards.

Mmmmmmmmm...............when Jesus was here as a man, we didn't have ice cream at that time. I agree that he would like that treat.

He might return the favor and give us ice cream in heaven.

Ohhhhh yes, another thread turning toward Ice Cream. That would be a must, along with pie or cake.

I'd probably make him something he hasn't had before, like Mexican food or Chinese food and then ice cream, of course.

No reason whatsoever. I like Mexican food. I'm sure Jesus likes Mexican food too.

Oh cool deal then. I was just thinking that I don't mind that Jesus sees my kitchen, but I sure don't want Him to see my restroom. LOL. Mexican food and I don't agree, but cool if you like it!

And the food that I mentioned that I would serve Him. That is my exact reason too. I like it and I am sure He would like it too.

It would definitely be kosher!

I hope He has dinner at our house on a Friday evening. Actually, I think He does -- I can feel His presence there especially during Friday meals.

Okay. I would ask my husband to do grilled salmon, since he would feel bad if I grilled it. Two nice, long fillets -- one marinated in kosher teriyaki and the other with lemon juice and dill bits.

I would prepare a green salad with toasted almond slivers, grape-tomatoes, cranberry raisins, mandarin orange slices, and my famous lite salad dressing made with 2 parts water, 1 part balsamic vinegar, and 1 part Simply Fruit raspberry jam.

I would roast potatoes then mash them, leaving some of the peel in, and flavor them with butter and garlic.

We would have roasted vegetables: sweet potatoes, 3 kinds of squash, celery root, and bell peppers (green, yellow, & red), onion, cut into bite-size pieces, roasted, then tossed with a little kosher teriyaki and soy sauce.

Dessert: since He won't mind having milk and meat in the same meal , we will make ice cream. When it is done, I will stir in broken Heath bars and toasted pecans.

Am I invited too?

Yeah, if I could, I would bake a chocolate cake with chocolate fudge icing, topped with honey-roasted walnuts.

My mother couldn't cook to save her life, but wow, could she bake bread!

If he came over to our house tonight, he'd get potato soup, water crackers, and a Guinness to wash it down.
Tomorrow? He'd get burgers, salad, Orida tatter tots, candy corn, Smarties, Skittles, Mary Janes, little Butter Fingers and Baby Ruths, Hershy kisses, Jolly Ranchers, etc....

Hmmm, first thought would be fish because He served it often and He ALWAYS gives His best!

HOWEVER, they didn't have gumbo back then so, I'd give Him gumbo! Seafood gumbo and rice with ALL the ingredients... EVERYTHING like Grandmere taught us - no holding back! I'd maybe add some crayfish, corn on the cob, potatoes and grilled onion on the side with corn bread baked in an old, well seasoned cast iron skillet - dripping with butter.

For dessert - cinnamon and cream cheese KING cake ! All served with a tall cold glass of sweet tea and a sprig of mint.

And then I'd grab His hand and we'd run over to Abiyah's house with Popsi and pretend the whole gumbo thing never happened
