I was observing my surroundings outside a few moments ago. I saw all sorts of plantlife, rocks, dirt, hills. Its fall and I watched as golden leaves wisped around as they fell to the ground. I also saw birds flying about and singing their songs and a few insects scurrying about. I got to thinking how much more variety is out there on this planet. The beauty and precision of it. The oceans and its lifeforms, those we know about and those we have yet to really observe at its depths. Vast forests, and jungles, mountains and all forms of wildlife.

What power of design by God! what marevlous creativity he had in building our exsistence as he authred the laws by which we function and think and designed all lifeforms and how they function! What a design powerhouse he is! THE design powerhouse!

Praise be to God and Jesus Christ!

Yes, indeed. When I was returning to my car today after a doctor appt. at the VA, I looked in grass by the sidewalk. To my surprise there was this absolutely beautiful silver/reddish fox just standing there. I was shocked at first, because in my 5yrs of going to the VA never had I seen a fox on the grounds. I just stood there staring at it. It was so beautiful the way the silver outlined it's face and streaked down it's back. I really wanted to go and touch it, but I was afraid I'd scare it away. I wish I had my cellphone to take picture. I never had been so close to an uncaged wild animal before, God's creation was flawless. After staring at each other for a while she laid down and frolicked in the grass. I just can't get over how beautiful and perfect she was. It was an amazing experience I'm not soon to forget.

Last year I had a similar experience. I had fallen under the influence of the Spirit on a much deeper level than I had ever experienced. I had starting walking on a daily basis, and the morning that I went out, there was a heightened awareness of God's creation all around. It was very early so the birds were just waking up, and the sun was just coming up. It was pretty surreal, but yet very real. Joy flowed through me as I marvelled at the work of God and how it all came to life with the light (kind of like with a christian coming to life with the Light of the world coming to life in them). At the time, I knew exactly what it was like for Adam and Eve as they would walk with God in the garden. The beauty of all that had been created. I also remember thinking that this was just one day, and God made all of this happen every day since the beginning of time. I was amazed at the beauty of it all, and now understand what it is that God saw when He said that it was good.

jmjphe,

i was driving home from work today and was feeling rather sad like ok a bit of self pity i suppose, then i noticed the beautiful colors of autumn the oranges, yellows, reds on the trees, i looked at the soft clouds in the sky that seem to take form they looked like hills and mountains up there the sky around them a deep blue, my window was just slightly cracked open cause it is getting cold these days, the air coming into my car was so crisp i could taste it, and all i could think of was how amazing the changing of the seasons what a wonder no man could ever orchestrate this only God, a time, a season for all things for all people..

my bout of self pity was gone, i drove the rest of the way with a smile on my lips and pray in my heart, just being very thankful...

I find its difficult to look at almost anything without seeing God's fingerprints on it. Even in the fallen state, the beauty of his Creation is amazing.

Amen!

God's artwork ... there is nothing that can compare!!

Standing at the beach, seeing out across the horizon, the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, the feel of the ocean spray, the smell of the sea water.

Walking in the woods in autumn, seeing the beautiful colors that change day-by-day, hearing the wind whistling through the leaves and branches as it sings to you, the feel of the wind and the leaves as they fall against your skin, the smell of leaves burning.

Standing still in the desert, seeing the quiet and beautiful landscape, hearing tiny sounds in the quiet of the day and more as the sun starts going down and the desert creatures come out of hiding, the feel of the hot sun, the smell of the creosote bush.

Ahhhhh ... God is truly amazing!!! All we need to do is stop and observe.

jmjphe, what a wonderful thread! Thank you

It's bittersweet for me though because though they are beautiful, they are only shadows of the real thing. They are only temporal as Paul says they with us groan in eager anticipated for the coming redemption through Jesus Christ.
