I know when people typically talk about p&w, they're referring to singing. During worship at church, as well as listening to my cds at home, I engage in strong, genuine praise and worship. But what about when I don't have my music with me? Like at work, or while doing something that doesn't require much thought & therefore leaves my mind open to doing other things such as praising God? Are there other ways to worship God besides singing?

Exactly. Find a quiet place and some time for yourself without interruptions. Speak to Him as if you would a loving Father and friend. Tell Him about your hopes, your fears, your frustrations and your anger even. He can handle it. He took our anger on the Cross - did He not? Thank Him and praise Him. You can pray silently a few seconds/minutes at a time. On the train, on the bus, walking to the store etc ... etc ... When I meet someone and they are complaining about their health, their finances or whatever - I silently pray for them that God may help them. Just like I'm praying for you right now.

I praise God for what He has done and I worship God for Who He is. You can praise God in good times and bad times (i.e. when it is difficult due to hardship, sadness, etc this is known as the 'sacrifice of praise'); you can praise God in music, singing, dancing, prayer, fasting...... Likewise worship can include all the above. Both praise and worship can include quietness, stillness, celebration, etc Positions for praise and worship also vary, e.g. standing, sitting, prostrate, kneeling...... Praise and worship are part of bringing glory to God. I also believe our lives can bring glory to God if we are being obedient to His Word, i.e. our daily lives should be an outworking of our praise and worship, i.e. devotion to God.

Are there other ways to worship God besides singing? I praise him in every thing I do. I try my best to do all things in perfection, and live the way Jesus told us to live. And I thank God for every breath I take in and every moment I'm awake. To me this is praise.

I try to be as obedient to Him as I can. A lot of times, I will just be walking and simply tell Him " I love You". Sometimes I weep when I think about what He has done for me. I tell others about what He did for them.

Today, I was driving down the road looking at the land, and I was thinking about how in Genesis God watered the whole earth from a mist that came up from the ground (there was no rain). I was imagining what that must have been like and I praised God for just how incredible He is. For me, most of the time, it is the study of the Word of God that brings praise and worship for God. Being in constant prayer also inclines me to praise and worship God.

Sharing how God spoke to you through the Bible and how you practically applied your understanding of His Word to a specific situation. These are particularly poignant to me when I hear one (even if it's overdone/overused by a person). j

I agree but I don't think you even need to find a silent place. I work in a very busy, noisy place, and yet still praise Him. I love music, and I take a song with me, and I sing it over and over again in my head. I thank Him, and pray to Him even while I am working.

I just wanted to say that.... Aside from the Norm. for me I do my best to be Obident To His Word.... for me I was taught that Obidence is the Highest form Of Worship.... All of him and none of me kind of thing.... Anyways.... I remember reading in the " Messeage Translation Bible ".... " Obidence Is Thicker Than Blood " And it was translating something that Christ Jesus was saying. If I remember correctly.... Anyways... those words has stayed with me for some time now.... Ok that's my two cents....

I think it should be more of a lifestyle than just something we participate in at times. We should be giving glory to GOD in all the things we do, not just in what has become our view of worship time portrayed mostly by music. David Crowder wrote an awesome book, you should check it out.
