The Bible says God always was, is, and will be.....yet everything in nature seems to have a beginning and end and my mind cannot comprehend how something just exists out of nowhere and always was, is, and will be...This is just a conundrum to me....Not that it is a challenge to my faith, but more of a personal curiosity.

Hasn't everyone wondered this before? ...I usually just give up and cannot fathom what it is to be uncreated.....I suppose on another level, I realy don't care.

Ok, I just saw this from GotQuestions.org
http://www.gotquestions.org/who-created-God.html
(It's interesting and logically makes sense, though is still somewhat mind-boggling as well, lol.)

Question: "Who created God? Where did God come from?"

Answer: The atheist Bertrand Russell wrote in his book "Why I am Not a Christian" that if it is true that all things need a cause then God must also need a cause. He concluded from this that if God needed a cause then God was not God (and if God is not God then of course there is no God). This was basically a slightly more sophisticated form of the childlike question, "Who made God?" Even a child knows that things do not come from nothing, so if God is a "something" then He must have a cause as well, right?

The question is tricky because it sneaks in the false assumption that God came from somewhere and then asks where that might be. The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, "What does blue smell like?" Blue is not in the category of things that have odor, so the question itself is flawed. In the same way, God is not in the category of things that are created, or come into existence, or are caused. God is uncaused and uncreated - He simply exists.

How do we know this? Well, we know that from nothing, nothing comes. So if there was ever a time when there was absolutely nothing in existence then nothing would have ever come to exist. But things do exist. Therefore, since there could never have been absolutely nothing, something had to have always been existing. That ever-existing thing is what we call God.

I think we all have wondered this. But our thinking is limited to our experience, where everything has a beginning, and seems to have an end, and we are small mortal creatures. Physically, that is; our souls will last forever, and that is hard to comprehend as well.

God is so outside our level of understanding. From eternity past, He is. He has always existed (and always will), and if you could time travel there would never be a time when He didn't exist. It boogles my mind and threatens to undo my brain.

Maybe in heaven we'll be able to take this in without our brains exploding. Meanwhile, I practice by looking at the pictures at www.spaceweather.com and http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ and trying to scale the incredible distances and power. It's wonderful!

Yeah, I've wondered about this on occasion. I try not to think about it too much because I don't want to drive myself crazy!

I'm content to let God be God. To ponder God in our limited imaginations can be frustrating at least and dangerous at most. This 'time continuum' was created, probably, to remind us of our mortality and illustrate back to the examples of past saints that we alive can emulate. When one lives in exaggeration or imagination not rooted revelation from a trusted outside source(borne of their own speculation)sometimes he begins to believe himself.

The universe itself is without end, for if you think about it even if there was an end, or if you like, you travelled to the end only to find a wall, you are still left with wanting to know what is on the other side of the wall, much in the same way as in the Trueman story.

It is hard to say nothing comes from nothing for we could never determine if that is true having never seen nothing. We say dust to dust and ashes to ashes but where did the man go? What then do we make of the supernatural which is not defined by particles or created matter? That which is spiritual cannot be understood by the flesh. Even the kingdom of God cannot be placed on a map for such cannot be inherrited by the flesh.

One important thing to remember is, even with an Atheistic worldview, either something had to pop into existence with no cause, or something must have always been around forever without a cause. There's no way around it. Christians believe that something, or more properly, someone, is God. Atheists believe it's the universe, going through never-ending cycles of birth, death and rebirth.

Just know that God created time. Before God created time it didn't exist. If you think about it that way it makes it easier.

The second post touches on this, but I think it's important to note thtat God can't have ever 'come from' anywhere - or else he would be the product of something that preceded Him. He always was, and indeed, His answer to Moses question about what He was to be called is both simple and yet deeply metaphysically profound - "I am". This is exactly the answer to the question, "Where did God come from?", because at any given moment (and before there were momets) God always is.

Yes of course ive wondered this. I think every believer and even probably non-believers wonder this from time to time.
But the answer is in the bible, regardless of how much anyone tries to 'logically' work it out.

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." (Genesis 1:1 KJV)

So that right there says that there was nothing before Him.

But even though there is that obvious truth right there in front of our eyes when we open up the bible, we as human beings sometimes find it hard to grasp because we are sometimes looking at everything from a 'logical' view as opposed to an obvious view.
I think that we as Christians should just absolutely know that one day all of our questions will be answered. And they will be answered by God.
I think some things we arent supposed to know. Its irrevelant.
What is revelant is whats been given to us.

Another question could be if God always was then why did He wait so long to create humans? Another part of the OPs question should be if God always was then were Jesus and the Holy Spirit always were too.

Are you saying that Jesus and the Holy Spirit weren't always there too?

I don't think God 'waited' at all - in fact that doesn't really mean much for a timeless being. And because the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all God, they were always present.

We(I)can't hardly imagine a time 'without time' yet the eternal continuum is the essence of the self existent God in three personalities, Jehovah the Eternal God, his son Christ Jesus is the God Redemption and the God of Conviction, Holy Spirit.

I have wondered, but it is just one of those questions that I guess goes unanswered. He always was? Right.

I answered the question....Have you ever wondered where God came from.

My answer is...no. I have never wondered where God came from. Not once.

I believe I have but at this point, it's not a salvic issue, as long as I know He's there, I'm quite fine. Sure, for apologetics reasons, I'd look into reasons but myself? I really don't care.

I've heard conflicting reports. Several have told me He came from Texas and even one said West Virginia. But the general consensus has been somewhere in Dixie.

I would only hope that God didn't come from any place on earth...

if He did that would YIKES.

And if He did it of course would have to have been from Central NYS

Something I've been brewing up and brainstorming mentally is that As God authored logic, physics, the natrual world, exsistence and all its components, he established an absolute lens by which we view and understand him, his characteristics, and his power...meaning we can only think it out so far. Remember God is the author of logic. Some questions are invalid for us...its like trying to come up with a 3 sided shape that perfectly fits the qualifications for a square, circle, and triangle.
