A friend of mine recommended this forum to me. She goes by the name Thessa here. You might know her.
Anyway, the first thing I'd like to say, just to get it out of the way and out in the open, is that I'm an Atheist. However I'm told that shouldn't be a problem here and that Atheists are allowed. I wont make a big deal out of it and tell you why I don't believe in God and why I don't like to idea of religion an so on. Unless I'm asked. So I wont be a problem at all.
I mainly came for the political talk because I was told this forum is great for political discussion. I might get into the religious discussion as well as long as it's intelligent discussion and light debate amongst mature people who wont get offended if someone doesn't agree with them. But I've had bad experience with discussion religion with people before, so I'll probably try to contain myself as best I can.
I'm also a big time geek. I love computers. I studying programming, web design and databasing among other things at the moment. The short term goal is to get a Degree in Software Engineering. The long term goal is to work in Cupertino. lol, wishful thinking.
So anyway, I look forward to a good time here and lots of healthy discussion.

Welcome to the forums. I haven't read your other posts yet, but I think your attitude is one that will fit well on the forums. You're right - we don't require you to be Christian to participate here, but we require that you don't argue forcefully against Christian beliefs.

Well, I've met Thessa, so I am glad to meet you.  I am a believer, but I've spoken with other atheists before, so no problem, but I am So Not a geek! I am lucky to just get a computer to cooperate with me a little! So we may be running in different directions here, but nice to meet you anyway!
