I saw a story on the news today where a person can be given a fishicure. What's that? Where you put your feet into a tank containing small fish, and they eat all the dead skin off your feet. How do you feel about that? Would you do it?

Very interesting. I don't know if I could do that or not. Sounds very similar to when they used to use leaches to suck out the blood of swollen areas.

They would have to pay me for feeding their fish.

I do it everytime we go swimming in the creek. Us "hill folk" have know it for years. I have no problems with it, but since I can get it done for free...sure wouldnt pay for it!

Absolutely not!!! I won't get into the ocean or a lake/pond because of the fish in there. I'm certainly not going to allow them to touch me on purpose!

I will swim in lakes with fish and I don't flip out when they nibble, but there seems to be something very wrong with going to a salon and paying someone to let you sit with your feet in a bowl of fish. If I want to make my feet look pretty and exfoliate that bad, I will just use an enzyme peel.

Trish, I like my method much, MUCH better. After every shower, I gently towel dry my feet, rub calendula cream all over them and then wear footies during for a few minutes while the cream absorbs into my skin. The cream is very thick. It takes me probably 2 minutes to do this; and as long as I do it consistently, then I do have problems with dead skin and/or rough, dry, cracked feet. I imagine any lotion, etc. would work. For years, I used extra virgin olive oil. And no, I've never heard of a fishicure. It doesn't sound like something I'd want to do neither.

What I want to know is how did someone come up with this?

Oh, and I will also say that if someone wants to do what I do, they need to be aware that the results will not be immediate . . . but they will eventually be forthcoming.

I have heard of this too, but I wouldn't do it. Give me a regular pedi anyday though...love them!

I don't find it disgusting but I don't know why someone would think I would pay for that.
