...but we already knew this; right? In the article, he is described as a "born-again" Christian singer....hmm. I wonder if Ray Boltz's coming out contributed to his decison to officially announce his orientation?

it was pretty darn obvious to begin with and fathering a child by artificial insemination in your early twenties it pretty much confirmed it in the rest of the publics eyes.

I for one am totally shocked. If I had to make a list of manly men I would never suspect of being gay, up until today it would have read like this: 1. Arnold Schwarzenegger 2. Sylvester Stallone 3. Mel Gibson 4. Clay Aiken SO much for that. Now I guess Ricky Martin moves up to the number four slot...

I'm so incredibly saddened by this, I just can't say. He's such a marvelous singer and performer (I've seen him). There's a part of me that wants to throw out his CDs, but I don't know. That voice!

I don't think you need to throw out your CDs. This reminds me of the Ray Boltz thread, but I see a distinction because Clay Aiken does not have a ministry and Ray Boltz does. There are many entertainers that live lifestyles that are not Christian and that does not make them less talented. Sexual orientation isn't something I judge people on when it comes to what entertains me. I just think that's something that each individual needs to decide based on what you're hearing from God.

All right, I'm getting the message. There was a stereotype about him or something so we were supposed to assume he was gay? I did not. So I will go away now.

I guess it's safe to conclude that our local staion (WGTS) will no longer have him in their rotation.

I did not know he was gay, I did not see the photo with his child until today. I usually don't follow celebrity "news" so I was out of the loop on this one.

I can't imagine anyone being surprised. but the whole thing is who cares? Why does someone feel a need to broadcast their sexual sin to the world is beyond my comprehension.

This really doesn't shock me that Clay Aiken is gay, but it does sadden me. What a waste of a perfectly good life! I had hoped maybe he wasn't, because I have some guy friends who to an outsider would appear to be gay, but that are very straight! It is too bad, and I will be praying that God opens his eyes, but until then, I'm afraid that his versions of "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve" and "Mary, Did You Know?" will always be my favorite!

I guess this announcement will boast his sagging career. I think not. This is sad though. I wonder who will be next to come out. Instead of coming out of the closet, they need to be cleaning it.

So if someone asked him what his idea of a 'Born Again Christian' was, I wonder how he'd respond?
