For the most part, I only knew Charlotte Gainsbourg as bilingual actress, straddling between The U.K. and France. But when I heard about her side career as a vocalist--possibly thanks in part to her actress/model(?)/singer Mom, Jane Birkin, AND French crooner Dad, the late-Serge Gainsbourg, I'm very much floored by Charlotte's breathy-ethereal vocals, almost sharing much of her famous Mum's Mod sensibilities and/or styles.
As for her first singing stint with Daddy Serge... well... let's just say for all of its catchy beats & rhythms, I have to admit that I can't get past my American-raised sensibilities--uh, I mean Puritanism  , when it comes to that mid-80's tune, "Lemon Incest!"  *
*Yeah, yeah; I know it's supposed to be a metaphor about the non-sexual love shared between father and daughter, but chalk it up to my "prudishly un-hip," American-Born Chinese (Christian) history!
