I wonder how much more $ the protest ended up costing taxpayers?

At first they were told they could negotiate with Dick Cheney. After several failed efforts, the university informed them that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin had been hired to negotiate. They promptly surrendered.

I guess saving the tress was not as important to them as they would have us believe.

Oh well the shallowness of liberals never fails to amaze me.

Thanks

Hmm. 21 months of sitting in a tree protesting at Berkeley.

How many credit hours did they get for that?

My understanding is that many aren't current students just kids with well-to-do, enabler parents.

How could any of them have been students? My understanding is - even at UC Berkeley - you have to attend class every now and then.

And I wouldn't have bothered with building scaffolding to get to them to bring them down. A fire hose would have done the job a lot better.

I dunno. Twenty-one months in a tree is about 20 months longer than the average Dobson-inspired boycott.

It's just that given the general ideals of Berkeley, surely they would think that protesting for 21 months straight should be worth at least a little college credit. ;)

Gosh, when I googled accounts of the Berkley tree-sitters, I was shocked to see that many of them did it in the nude. One can only hope that there were numerous encounters with near-sighted sqirrels.
