This is the first time I've asked for prayer...I'd like to ask that someone would pray for my parents. They're trying to deal with the issues of getting older and not being able to do all the things they used to do. It seems to bother my Mom (who turns 80 this year) more than my Dad (who's 83), because she is the type of person that can't stand being cooped up in the house; she enjoys getting outside and gardening, yard work, etc. But it's getting very difficult for her to do the things she enjoys, and it's driving her crazy. She's always had problems with anxiety, and now she's been going through some terrible bouts with irritable bowel syndrome (at least that's what her doctor tells her it is), and her tendency to worry seems to make that even worse. My parents have always taken care of their home, keeping everything looking nice, and it makes them sad to have to let some things go. I do all I can to help. I try to encourage them to let God handle things, but even though they're believers, they still seem to have some trouble understanding that.

Anyway, if you could, please pray for them to be able to deal with getting older, and that the Lord would heal my Mom of her anxieties. Thank you, I appreciate it very much!

Dearest Lord, our All in all, I pray for this older mother and father that they could each in their own hearts give themselves completely to You, find full satisfaction in You, be at peace in and with You, let You be their Rock and Refuge, fully trust You, be able to deal with getting older by being fully Yours in the very core of their innner selves...that the peace of God that passes all understanding would guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Father,

Thank you for this mother & father and for their many years in this life.

Please help them to cope well with their increasing limitations.

Bless them greatly in ways that will help them to live with a wonderful peace of mind—accepting those things that they cannot change, changing those things that they can and having the wisdom to know the difference.

We pray for them in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Lord, encourage this couple now. Help them to deal with what is happening to them. Help them to surrender their anxieties to You and give them the assurance that You are in control. Bless them Lord and minister to them, fill them with peace.

in Jesus name,
amen

Lord, be with this family and help them to feel your comfort and grace. It is hard for us to 'give up' the things we want and especially when doing so makes us feel helpless.

Be with each of them and encourage them in a special way. In Jesus name. Amen
