I was in Delaware today and asked someone about where "Every-man Joe's" home was located. It didn't surprise me that it was located in the wealthiest area around Wilmington, DE. But, it should have.

You see, we're told that Biden is a modest man with a modest income by Senate standards. In fact, he and his wife made a combined income of just $265,500. Now, I don't know about you. But, I don't think I could afford a $2.5 million dollar home on that kind of income.

But, then again, you don't have the kind of friends that Biden (or Obama) have. You see, Wilmington is a huge credit card banking center. In 1976 Biden paid $200,000 for his first home. And in 1996, friend and political supporter John R. Cochran III, the top guy at MBNA credit card bank (You know, one of those mean old credit card companies that Obama and Biden are going to go after when they get in office.) paid Biden SIX times that for that same house.

Ok, so maybe it was in a good neighborhood. But, there is more.

Now poor "Everyman Joe" was out on the street. Homeless as it where. So, he needed a little charity. Just at the right moment along comes supporter Keith Stotz who just happened to have 4.2 acres of land that he had purchased 5 years earlier. But, poor Keith, even though this land happened to be highly prized and in the richest neighborhood in the Wilmington area, the poor guy never made a dime on it. He let Biden purchase it without a single penny of profit.

Lucky, lucky Biden!!!

Why don't you read all about it here. You should be the first to know, because when it comes up in the future you can dismiss it as old news.

Don't you wish YOU had friends you could call "evil predators" out of one side of your mouth and kiss them out of the other?

The first home sale does not sound fishy. $1.2M for a heavily renovated 10,000 sq ft home in a pricey area does not sound at all unreasonable to me. You'd be lucky to get half that much house for that price where I live. Yeah, he made 500% profit if you only look at the sale prices, but according to the article, when he bought it, it was run down and overgrown.

The second deal - the land transaction - sounded a bit fishy reading your summary of it, but reading the article it doesn't seem like much of anything. They guy paid a high price for it initially, then wanted to unload it quickly and took a low offer because he wouldn't have to pay a commission on it. That could easily account for 5 years worth of appreciation.

A proper VP should own at least 3 houses!

You do realize that a 1 room (not bedroom...ROOM) cabin would be classified as a "recreational" home. And seeing that the Palin family are a outdoors family, it does not supprise me that they would own a cabin or two (even if it is more than one room). My bets are on a hunting cabin and a fishing cabin. FYI, my uncle in Mn owns TWO homes, but he is a middle school teacher, and my aunt is a home hospice care worker. They probably make less than 100k a year. But they do own TWO homes according to MN law. Their house in the Twin Cities area, and their small cabin upstate.

So Tao, nice try on the story that is obviously devoid of detail and facts.

Yeah, I live in Minnesota and multi-house ownership is all that uncommon - my in-laws had three houses at one point, and he is a retired cop and she is a retired nurse. Now they are down to one really big house on the lake and about 150 acres of prime hunting land elsewhere.

Of course the dishonest left is going to twist it any way they can, just as they have just about everything else about Palin.

Just having a bit of fun.
Or are jokes off limits too?

Maybe you folks would be kind enough to tell us what people are allowed to say?
Of course, that would be confusing Conservatism with Facism, which may or may not be a problem for some.

Really Dan? Then did you not notice when TaoPoohBear brought it up or do you only notice it when those you disagree with do?

The monthly payment on a home such as this is 14,000 or annual paymentos of $168, 000.00. Throw in insurance of approx. $50,000.00, and taxes; well we are already above his gross pre tax annual income.

Maybe we should call the welfare folks to get him some food stanps.

Thanks

Here is the most revealing aspect of the story. "Over the past decade they (Bidens) reported giving an average of $369 to charity."

Like so many good liberals, his charity comes from your income. "As the world’s richest country, we have a moral obligation to increase our share of the effort to eliminate poverty."

Is it a coincidence that Joe Biden gives about $1 a day to charity, the same amount of income BO's brother lives on?

Why would Democrats give their own money to charity when they can give ours through taxation? If they actually started being generous in line with their claims to care for the poor, then their pet government programs might go away - and they would lose power. Better to keep the poor in poverty, and maintain power.

Maybe we out to call them our "Home Boys" in that both of them appear to have had substantial help from 'supporters' in acquiring land. What is great about the Biden story is that MBNA is one of those big bad credit card companies that Biden and company rail about.

They probably met on the Acela Train... the you remember... the ALL FIRST CLASS train that Biden takes back an forth from Wilmington to DC each work day? Rubbing elbows with the common folk in 1st class is the thing alright.

Oh, speaking of close ties to lobbyists and supporters... Biden's son conveniently quite lobbying for Amtrak in the last week or so we wouldn't look too closely.

Power, unfortunately, whether GOP or DEM, corrupts.
