In my street all the boys playing football in the street happened to have earrings. Was wondering, how old is it reasonable to keeping declining them a first ear piercing, when they want one?

So let me understand your question. Do you not want your son to get an earring? Or is it just that you want him to wait?

I have girls but my DH has one ear pierced. I can't put an age number on it, but I would have to know that my son wasn't just trying to be cool or follow the pack. Obviously he has to be able to care for it. I think if you have no objection to it then you have to find out the whys of his wanting this. Then decide if that is a good enough reason for you. If you don't approve then he doesn't get it done while he is in your home.
